Going to the mechanics- need some info
I was just wondering if anybody can give me information about where a transmission (5-Speed Tip, 1998.5 Audi a4 1.8T Quattro) would normally leak after many many miles (got 172,000). Would like some info so I cango to the mechanics semi-educated, lol. I looked under the car and it seems to leak from the transaxle, if thats even possible? It leaks in between the transmission and oil pan on the driver's side from where the axle seems to meet up with the transmission. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys.
sounds like the input shaft oil seal behind the torque converter good way to see this is where the tranny bolts onto the engine and the fluid should be red or what ever you use and is totally different than standard oil
Yeah I know for sure its tranny oil cause its red and it will begin to slip after about a month of driving. I fill it back up everytime it gets low, but I just want it FIXED! lol. I heard it could be the drive axle seal as well?
