Driver Info Display...missing radio/cd info
Hi all... I have a 2001 a6q 4.2, with the Symphony1 radio. My Driver Info Display (between the speedometer and the tach) shows all of the normal car alerts and 'OK' status, BUT it will not show any of the radio information, or cd changer information. It has never worked while i have owned the car. I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what might be causing this?
Thanks for the help, and for all the other great information here!

Do you get the exterior temp read out too? Or is the whole lower 2/3 or so blank? If so, the button on the lower side of the wiper control has a button labeled 'reset', press it in once only for a second & it should come on. If you get all readouts except the radio info, I have no clue what it is. But the display itself is turned on & off via that switch.

pull radio out and checked if the connection is plugged in?

Thanks again!
I have different radio so not sure if plugs are same,
but should be 20pin with one black or 3 color plug.
if not getting info, also check back of the cluster as well. if you don't see odometer also then it might be back of cluster.
I took apart that thing try to do quick fix, but I do need to get my LCD panel reglued by shop to fix it 100%.

Its a very common problem. Mine is exactly the same, except it occaisonally comes on for a minute, then dies. The lower 2/3rds of the display works fine. Only cure is to remove the cluster and replace the screen. I think there isa company that can fix the problem by resoldering some connections.
