So I have made the decison the put 19s on the my 98 a4. Just have some questions about clearances. i was thinking of a set of 19 by 8.5 just wondering how big of tire i could go? I think the front wheel well closest by the door is the deciding factor in the size. If could get a rough meassurement on the distance with the wheel turn in by some one with 19s i would ot would help me alot.

 

I have 18s on now and i gotta be honest there isnt much space in front for tires to turn. I would go with 18s max IMO

 

there are plenty of people running19s but mostly 19x8. i'm running 18x8 awith 225/40 tires and sometimes i scrape the wheel wel during a full steering wheel lock turn. i used to run 245/40s and they just rubbed everything, especially the rearend. the rearend is not as deep as the front. you got any wheels in mind?

 

its going to depend on your offset.

i'm running 19x8.5 with 235 rubber in the front and 19x9.5 with 245 rubber in the rear. i rolled my front fenders and don't have issues.

 

Unless your planning to roll I would just go with 18's. They look great and are plentty big, and dont already have much room to grow.

 

Depending on the offset you should be able to fit them pretty easily. Stretched tires and/or rolled fenders will make it easier. Are you lowered at all?

not lowered but am plannig on getting some coilovers.

 

i love the flat black on that middle b5 with the ugly *** wheel setup... anyone know the name of that color??

 

OEM S8 wheels = ugly?
It's custom painted (pretty sure it's paint, not vinyl)

If you want coilovers why get 19s? It'll be a lot easier to get a good stance with smaller wheels.
