Hey guys, heres the deal

4000obo, going to offer 3500, and go up from there!

1999 audi a4 quattro, 5 speed , 2.8l , 110,000 miles.

he said he has service records, it comes with 2 sets of tires, normal and studded snows. The car has an aftermarket k&n air intake, he said that it caused a engine code, somthing to do with the MAF sensor, is this possible? is this the truth?

he also said that the AWD lines were unplugged, i couldnt really understand what this meant but this is his exact words "there are two vacuum lines that go to the condenser for the all wheeld drive, they plug into the stock airbox and just suck air but the stock airbox is gone, so there not in the airbox"

he said he put all new breaks and rotors, and new control arms.

I love the looks of the audi, and i live down a crap road so i think awd would help a lot.

i do all the work myself, but am curious how different working on an audi is from working on the normal ford or chevy pickup or car.

thanks guys! any imput would be great!

exactly what i though, i was like condenser? and by "vacuum lines" i figured he might have just meant vent tubes.

because ive never owned an AWD i dont know how they are set up, is there a differential that might have vent lines running into the airbox?

on all the truck diffs ive worked on the companys wouldn't think of wasting there time to run a line up to the airbox, they just leave them back there..

not sure what a AWD condenser is..

BESIDE that , how is the deal? i can have him clarify what he ment

I think he means the air lines for the secondary air pump - there is one that attaches to the front of the airbox. Look in front of the intake for a black plastic pipe coming up - it may have a 90 degree elbow on it, about 1" diameter. If it's there put a small breather filter (like a mini air cone) on it to filter its intake air, and then forget about it. A cotton/gauze filter can throw a code if the filter is over-oiled. Wash and dry the filter, and lightly re-oil it with K&N filter oil. Clean the MAF with MAF cleaner, let it dry overnight, and reinstall it. Clear the code and see if it stays gone.

Apples to oranges...over-engineered German oranges.

I jest, but its going to be an experience for you transitioning from American cars to Audi/VW. You'll need some new tools and a lot more patience. Feel free to post up here if you have any questions or concerns, if no one here can answer your questions or point you to someone who can, you're asking the wrong questions
