Default Good bye old friend...hello new hotness

So it's been far too long since I have hit up AudiForums. Much has happened since my time here so I figured I would update those still kicking around......

I sold the A4 to a buddy who was more than happy to take the car off my hands.

I learned a TON of knowledge from working on the small stupid **** that would fail on the 2.8....replacing the entire front suspension was probably the highlight of my ownership.

The family was getting to big (kids don't seem to stay the same size....) so a larger car was needed.

I spent 2 months poking around....never taking myself seriously about parting with the B5 I had grown to love. In the end, I found a new love....

2008 Passat Wagon 2.0T automagic......with 18,000 miles. 1 owner just off lease. I couldn't pass it up. Tough negotiation with the dealer but after 3.5 hours at the dealer, the car was mine.

Just picked it up today....just a few cellphone shots

I will poke around from time to time......as I get the time. As for the B5, I was promised that when it finally does die, she will be honored with a respectable death (part-out).

P.S. just bit the bullet and purchase a full LEGAL VCDS from Ross-Tech so I added myself to the Vag-Com locator, I would be more than happy to provide my services.

O.D.

I did sport springs with sport shocks on the old B5......this time around, I am thinking Air-Ride or other equivalent system will be used instead. My wife is trying to brainwash me not to do anything with the car.......like that is gonna happen.

Hey ******!

Nice pick up, especially the hatch in the back. Glad to see you around again. Couple things:

1. Lower it.
2. Don't listen to your wife.
3. Lower it.
4. You're still required to come to meets.
5. ???
6. Profit

Looks great man. Looking forward to seeing it show up at my house on air, with a big-*** FMIC, and loping like a cammed 427...

Glad to see you haven't changed much.......I am happy to have finally joined the station wagon club. As far as my wife is concerned......what's the worst that could happen?????

I would never consider for a second to miss out on another meet. Now that I got the new ride, it has renewed my interest again.

I've been spec'ing out some air kits....still need to do more research. I just know that the only way my wagon will be low is if it rides on air. My wife didn't hate how low the B5 was, but she wants it to be adjustable at least.

It's kinda funny......we looked for months when she was up for a new car and considered the Allroad.....which has an air-ride system (granted it doesn't slam the car to the ground) but I think I may have a successful argument.

I admit the B6 avant is ****.......BUT for the price and the low miles, I am willing to accept that it's not an Audi. AND I was willing to overlook the fact that I was going from manual to automatic.

Thanks for the advice for sourcing parts....I'll poke around here and there to see what I find.
