Default Got her all buttoned up!

And then I find she's leaking coolant.
The lower radiator hose (from radiator, to thermostat housing and up to coolant res.) wont stop dripping. I disconnected and cleaned (and got a facefull of coolant) multiple times, I'm just stuck.
So my question is this: The upper hose is of a similar design: The hose ends are hard plastic and you have to really work hard to get it on. Once on, the hose locks into place with a metal clip. The inner design of the plastic creates a seal. There's still a small notch with a screw clamp in it up top.

The bottom hose was a breeze to put on. It just slides right on. Then there's also no clamp, nor a place for one. Besides, I put one on and it did not stop the "bleeding". I'm thinking I somehow have the hose on wrong, the spring clip is bad or the new radiator I bought from BHER has a smaller opening at the bottom and is leaking.

Any insight oh-so highly revered Audi gurus?

(The project was supposed to be finished today. It was nice and sunny and the roads begged to be driven. Plus I really wanted to play with my new snub mount and SPLIT-R valve.)

Should I worry about the gasket maker getting into my coolant lines and gunking things up, particularly the water pump?

BTW that guy's arms are HAIRY

considering red RTV is used by most people to seal up their water pump gasket, i think it'd be safe to use. put the stuff where two ends meet. i wouldn't use excessively though as it'll probably clog up something if you have a whole crap load in the system lol.

There should be an O-ring for the hard connections. And make sure you're pushing it on enough because I had that problem the first time but was able to quickly fix it.
