hey you would be suprised by replacing every fluid in the drive line with royal purple my car does transfer the power better and is a little more peppy...i swear by it..gotta have the right fluids..doesnt necessarily add any hp though

Replacing any old oil helps. I admit it is smoother and all, but i wouldnt list it as a mod

not really. its a stock 1.8t w/ an exhaust in a lighter fwd car. so he's lighter and put the power down better, but you have more power. he still should win but i wouldn't call it murdered. and even chipped gti's wouldn't murder chipped 1.8t/2.8's. its basically the same just lighter

bobstheoilguy.com forums does reviews based on lab oil sample anaylsis, and most people on that site wouldn't use royal purple if it were free. Too much shearing. So I stick with Mobile 1 products, penzoil products seem to be good as well according to test samples.

any review of royal purple seems to change the oil and the test immediatly, however like it was said before you can recieve that benefit from any kind of new oil.. so who knows if it acutaly increases performance. The numbers it claims are so small that it can be easily written off to any number of variables.

high 14's. so a chipped GTI would beat a chipped a4, like i said. it puts more power to the ground if the a4 is quattro and the GTI is lighter. but .5 seconds isn't murdering anything. and since in the OP's scenario the GTI isn't chipped and a 2.8 puts out almost as much as a chipped a4, its a pretty even race. the a4 is heavier but has more hp. its gona come down to the driver.
