Hanging Headliner Trim
The trim from my windshield to the driver's side B-pillar has fallen off and I can't get it to stay back in place. The trim has been mentioned but not described in a few threads, and I really need to understand how it's supposed to attach so that I can keep it from hanging down (in my face) without using tape. It appears that it just gets pushed into place but to do that it looks like it must be compressed somehow. But I don't know that, I only assume it and wouldn't know how to do it with only two hands - one to hold and stretch it, one to compress it, and my third hand to push it into place. Needless to say, as a human I have only two hands. Special tool to complete two actions at once?
Sound like your talking about the piece of cloth that attaches to the weather seal. You can tak ye whole rubber off and see if it goes back on that's the easiest way. The cloth is attached to a piece of plastic that somehow goes into the weather stripping. Take it off is your best bet.
Sorry - I wasn't aware of your reply. We're talking about the same trim - the cloth covered weather seal that is held by the A and B Pillar trim as it attaches to the headliner. I can remove it but as I wrote, it appears to require at least three hands to install. I'm replacing both A and B Pillar trim pieces - B is cracked and A just fell off (small "AIRBAG" clip broke and that's all that holds it against the body pillar. When I'm ready to install both, I'll be able to see if there's a different technique to install the weather seal, but right now, I can't find any instruction for an installation; lots of headliner examples but they never mention the weather seal. If, a big "if", I do get it back on, I'll supply the instruction so that someone else might benefit. Thanks.
