hanging sensor

Default hanging sensor

having trouble location where a sensor goes. its hanging under the driver side bumper. it is brown in color and I think the part # is 800 620 535. the numbers are so small I cant read them. any ideas? looks like some kinda air sensor. its on a 1998 A-4 1.8T

Could be the temp sensor for the ambient temp display on the cluster. If so, it should be secured and mounted behind the bumper in the center of the car, at the base of the radiator. Take a look and see if you have a sensor there.

+1. It's the temp sensor. At the base of the A/C condensor (the radiator-looking thing at the front behind the bumper) is a bracket that also holds on the power steering cooler loop. In the very middle of the car is going to be a circular hole for that sensor. The sensor sits left to right (horizontally) with the wire end to the right as you are facing the car.
