Hard start, puff of white smoke, and rough idle
When starting the car cold it usually takes a couple of tries and my buddy said it blows a small puff of white smoke. Once it does start it idles extremely rough for about 45 seconds. I just bought the car so i have no idea what maintenance has been done besides the oil change, and air filter change that i did. Also when i cleaned the throttle body about a week ago i noticed that there was a small about of oil sitting on the brim of the throttle body (on the part connecting to the intake hose, coming off the intercooler). I plan on changing the plugs after it comes back from the dealer for brake fluid change and coolant flush but i dont what to change them yet if i have a gasket leak thats letting oil into my cylinder. Also what spark plug does everyone run? Sorry about the long post. thanks in advance

for spark plugs get NGK BKR6E if the car is stock, BKR7E if you have a chip. a small amount of oil in there is to be expected. search the forum for "seafoam" and try doing that. works wonders on alot of cars. do seafoam before you change your plugs. what oil/filter did you use?
theres usually a small amount of 'smoke' (really its water vapor) from the tail pipe before the car gets warmed up. as long as it doesnt blow more smoke as your going down the road its ok. not a bad idea to get a can of MAF cleaner and do that. also look over all your hoses and make sure you cant find any cracks.

No i used the same gasket only because it looked 100% intact, it came right off the intake. It has no rattles when starting, sounds fine. here are some pictures of the oil i was talking about. I dont have any experience with turbos, so this looks like its going to be a crash course. That motor oil sitting in the throttle body cant be normal and is probably responsible for some of these symptoms once it reaches the cylinder. I also pulled the intake hose between the throttle body and intercooler and it had some oil and junk in it....cant be good. Where is this leak coming from? the second picture is clearer but some of the oil ran off.
PS. Thanks for the plug suggestion, i have some ordered.

Do you own stock in a gasket manufacturer? haha. The gasket is fine, there is no way i caused a big leak. I've seen a lot of people reuse the old one IF there is no damage and it comes off clean. Does anyone else have an opinion about the turbo blowing oil?
