As you can see one has a clear boot???? You can also see that it has a different type of ball joint pressed into the control arm? The clear one feels a little more plastic than the other, but still seems flexible. Seems a little less robust....

If it is, they sent me a new style one and an old style one. I think I might give Purems a call to see if they have run into these before. It all appears to have come out of the same Febi #21502 kit, which is the 12pc. kit for the B5 A4. It appears that I lost a nut off of the black boot control arm. There was nothing holding the plastic cover onto the ball joint shaft. The ball joint shaft end had punctured through the box. The clear boot control arm still had the nut attached to the ball joint shaft, holding on the protective plastic cover. I was hoping someone had put one of these on their car, and might know which is the better unit. Anyone else?

I've never seen one with a clear boot either, but it makes me a little nervous that they don't all match. Doesn't that seem strange?
