Resurfacing flywheels is debateable. Taking away surface matter reduces it's ability to disipate heat. Never met an Audi/VW tech who reccomended doing this. What is not debateable is that you will not get the same life out of the flywheel as you did the first time around, and I think thats the point.

Graphite is what most people go with because it helps reduce any noise.

yes it is $420 and that price is already discounted and has free shipping in the 48 states which is another savings of $25 which is what SB charges for all clutch orders. Our SB clutch kits also come as "modified" by Southbend to increase the clamping load, this is included and would normally cost another $60 from Southbend.

So if you order it from me it costs you $420, if you were to order the same thing from Southbend directly you would pay $490.

The discounts get larger as you go higher in the clutch stages. So the discount for the Stage 3 is a little more.

I discount all of the clutch kits that I offer along with many other parts I sell. Even though the mark up is not all that great, I still do it to help others save money while still getting a great product. At this time I am also trying to get Clutch Masters to put together a special price together for a FX400/billet steel flywheel package that I will be offering for about 30 days, I hope to be able to offer that for the month of Feb but at this time just waiting for Clutch Masters to put the price together.

Thats because the Audi dealer doesn't actually have the tools to resurface it and they would rather you spend $800 on a new one instead of $100 having it resurfaced. All about making money for the dealer not doing anything the easy way.

I had my stock flywheel resurfaced 3 times before it became too thin to use.

Alright thanks for the info. As soon as I sell these rims im ordering the stage 2. Assuming that is that it can handle a 3-4k launch on a stock 2.8.

Yes it should be able to handle doing that on a stock 2.8. For people that run a SC I suggest the Stge 3.
