Haunting idle

Haunting idle
When I'm stopped in neutral and not on the clutch the idle will fall to about 500 and then raise up to a grand only for a second before dropping back down again. Any ideas? ..... Oh yea, I GOT MY FIRST AUDI!!!!!!!!!!!!
