Did you ever fix this? What was the outcome?

 

Yeah :P I cracked open the combi switch again and cleaned it really really well and it worked fine till I sold it 6 months later. That car was a wiring mess though cause the PO messed with a lot of stuff. My brake lights and reverse lights always gave me issues and it was a headache. I know these cars have wiring issues but I blame the PO cause it was a rats best of wires, electrical tape and hand written labels all through out. Like I said I sold it, bought an S4 and am now in my second S4 :P love it, I won't ever not have a B5 after owning one that's sorted properly.
