Head rebuild
Hi guys.
Pulled the head after my timing belt went and had no compression. Looks like exhaust valves are bent in every cylinder.
I'd like some guidance from you guys on the best course of action. Do send the head to a shop and have then do all the machine work and new valves etc? Do I try and pull the valves and just replace the ones that are bent? How much machine work likely needs to be done.... Valve seats, resurface head? Also are the hydrolic lifters something that should be replaced when in there?
I'll try and figuire out how to post some pictures.

First two pictures are cylinder heads from #1 and 4.
Pistons 1 and 4 (looks like quite a bit of carbon to me).
Here is the kit I'm consiering: Audi Volkswagen 1.8 Intake and Exhaust Valve Kit - Audi18IntakeHeadKit2 | FCP Euro

that kit is a pretty good price. my opinion is send it in to the machine shop with the kit and just tell them to fix it. head work can get tricky not to mention youll need to buy a valve spring compressor if you dont have one that will work.
Ya know, no matter what you pay to deck the head, with that $314 FCP valve kit and a shave, it still costs less to buy a - wait. I just looked up prices on 1.8 heads. Nevermind.
My math was on a Subaru where you get a used head for $100 or less. And I've bought 2.8 heads for a little over $100. Now I check and see they get over $500 for a 1.8 head. That changes everything.
