like its been said before the 2.8 is not for performance, if you want a better sound just get a nice catback exhaust itll probably do the same thing as header and costs the same but add more asthetics wiuth the tips and better sound.
^ I agree. Like I told you, get rims or exhaustinstead of headers.

Eff that. If you're willing to dish out 1200 bones for headers, why don't you just put that cost towards a super-charger?

i was gonna get headers and an exaust after. also got some rims lined up and lookin on chipin it and the tip-chip. i wanted to get a supercharger, but i didnt now how it would wear on my engine since it already has 88k miles on it. would i have to mod the engine or rebuild for the charger. cause if the engine would be fine without rebuildor mod. i was also thinkin of rebuildin the engineand look for performance parts for the engine.

A '98 w/88k on the clock? She's still a baby. Your engine would be fine. I've read some posts aboutguys putting superchargers on theirs well past the 100k mark.

Pull the resonator and replace it with a straight pipe. The day after you'll be wondering what the hell you've done. Then it'll grow on you very quickly. Gains? Meh. Noise. Flow.
Why the early 2.8s have those damn 3rd and 4rth O2 sensors... grrr... or you could pull the cats too.

save your money, chip the car for $300 like im going to be doing..youll gaine around 10hp 10 ft. pounds..alot easier than headers and about the same added power.

So let me get this straight.
Since I have a 2.8, I shouldn't even have the idea of getting it to go faster??
I just got a performance exhaust for my car and was planning on getting a "performance header" next. Am I to understand that I shouldn't be doing this??

I want my car to be quicker by adding the basics (exhaust, header, and intake) but from what I'm hearing from you guys all this is pointless??
