Are you talking one piece headlights w/ HIDs? I read somewhere that the one-piece headlamps with the built in corner lamp aren't a perfect fit for '96-'99 models. I have a '98 as well, and I opted for the 2 piece headlamps, which had the headlamps, then the corner lamps in separate pieces prior to installation. Here is a pic of the final product.

the one piece headlights from the 99+ b5 are called ecodes (euro specs). Myself and many others have done this conversion, its easy.

Same here - they look great. Also, they don't require the fender trimming that adapting the one-piece lights have to have done. These are the RS4 style two-piece lights from eBay (~$150 shipped):

if ur 96-99 with the 2 piece lights i would highly suggest just getting the one piece kit and NOT the two piece kit. There is hardly any fender trimming needed at all. Its EASY even if you have never worked on a car before.

One piece looks a lot better than 2 piece, hands down.

^^^ I concur but one pieces are pretty expensive, if anyone can hook us up with a link to a decent priced one piece set of ecodes, I want some.
