1998 Audi a4 quatro 2.8.
Suddenly headlights quit working.
No dims no brights.
Lifting up on the turn signal lever gets brights.
Also cruise has not worked since I had the car.
Is there a relay somewhere that might account for this?
Wires in the stalk switch maybe.

 

I forgot to add, check engine light came on on the same drive. Could there be a connection?

 

From what I have seen it seems your issues are caused by a bad or melted “combination” switch which is your headlight and cruise control switch. Replace it and you should be good to go. Might last a couple months or never have another issue. Audi did not install a headlight relay from factory if you add one it should never be an issue again.

 

The ignition switch was the problem.
