Default heavy steering wheel

so i was having a little fun in the snow and i was moving to a different parking lot when i noticed the steering wheel suddenly because extremely heavy like having no power steering. i'm not leaking fluid and there's no smell. the rack was changed about 3 months ago. i'm thinking it's the pump because the power steering comes back if the revs go up. what do you guys think?

Was it filled with CHF-11s fluid? Also, check your belts. If it has CHF-11s and it's not low and the belts are fine then the pump seems likely to me.

yes it was filled with that fluid. i don't mess around with fluids in my car lol. the belt is only a year old. i'll check it in a bit but i don't think it's bad yet.

Has this been a problem consistently or only the one time? Audis are pretty notorious for having snow-clogged wheel wells. It's a PITA, but just knock it out of the wheel well when you park.

i've had my wheels packed with snow and it looked like a pie but never had this problem. i actually went again tonight to try and kill the PS pump but it won't totally die lol. i still have PS at 2k+ rpm. actually almost got arrested with 4 other cars but the trooper was nice enough to say that he woulda let us go if the building owners weren't such dicks lol. he even called the building owner gumba lmao. definitely the coolest law enforcement officer i've ever met in my whole life beside the other one that brings me venison hehe. i'll put up the vids we have when i get them but it was dark so they aren't that good. wish me luck on my court date guys and hope i can get off with an ACD.

forgot to mention that i can get used PS pumps grade A condition for 50 bux or less so eff the old messed up one. plus the job is uber easy on the 2.8 w00t

Could you have got snow up on the belt and caused it to slip killing power steering at low rpm?

possible but it's the same everytime i drive it now. it's not like i was in a foot of snow. it was about 6 inches. wouldn't i lose alternator too? i'm gonna try some belt dressing. i've already ordered 2 used PS pumps for 70 bux total so i'm not worried lol. i just have to rev, turn and then accelerate in the mean time haha.
