Post HELP: Adjusting Xenon Headlights

I just picked up a 01 A4, and it has the stock xenon headlights. They are pointed in the ground. Does anyone know how to adjust them? Thanks.

NOTE: I already search the forums for this.

When you pop open the hood, look towards one of the headlights. There should be a little opening (hole) the size of a quarter (located on the outer sides). Basically that hole will allow you to put a screw driver through it to reach for the adjuster.

Look inside first as you can spot the white plastic which will let you adjust the aim of the headlights.

If it's not too clear LMK so I can take a picture of it for you.

Good luck!

i know newer cars have an auto adjust after you calibrate them, and then you can tweak them a little by doing that, but do the 01's not have the auto adjust?

Does anyone know if the 01 have an auto adjust that you calibrate to the cars ride height? or is this all manual adjustments?

I still haven't figure it out if mine are self-leveling or not. If it doesn't, and the white plastic screws are the answer, there must be multiple ones to adjust the high beams and low beams.

IIRC, there are no self-adjusting headlights for the B5's.

Dallas09 - Your buddy probably has a B6 since the link to AW said it works for '01 TT and '03 A4.

OP - There is also a self adjusting plastic for high beam. However, I believe you have to take the headlights out to adjust these.

Well that works, because I have to take out the headlights this weekend to do the clear corner mod! BUT, how can you only adjust the high beam with the headlight out of the car. How will you know how high they are or if they are position right? It'd be a horrible trial and error, mounting them back into the car in between adjusting them.

What you should do when you adjust them is to put it back in place but don't screw them in just yet and check if they're the angle you wanted.

I rarely use my high beams since the Xenons and fogs are enough for me.
