Default Help with brakes

Usually the only reason they crack is if they get real hot and you drive through a puddle

theoretically theres less space for the drilled rotor to radiate heat but the good thing is that with the holes drilled theres more air flow through the rotors so its kind of a trade off.....which one is better I dunno....

Default Help with brakes

hey guys,

i could use your insight again. time to get my brakes done as they have started to squeak. some people have told me to stick with factory brakes as they typically dont squeak. others have suggested slotted brakes as they respond faster. however, they apparently are more prone to producing brake dust.

anyone with any suggestions/experience? ie brands, slotted vs reg etc. also, i know "this guy" who can do my brakes for me...is this risky or would you suggest that i take them to a midas (example) instead? thnx for your help guys.

It's pretty hard to mess up the brakes. If you trust the guy go for it, if not spend a little extra money and get it done professionally. Hell you could even do it yourself with little or no experience. If you can turn a wratchet, you're good to go. If you go that route, we're here tohelp.Everyone has their recommendations for brake pads, rotors. I can recommend you slotted and someone recommend you drilled. Mitex Red Box or Green Stuff Pads. You're not going to get one unanimous vote.

That being said, I really like myECS slotted rotors and red box pads.

Mintex or Greenstuff are the way to go - less dust, less fade.

Brembo drilled and slotted rotors are the way to go, you will notice a huge difference.
