Cincy help! Ok went to change my oil and further address this problem as desribed the first post. ok i found a cracked pipe but cant locate it on the diagram above. It is right under the middle of the intake manifold and has 2 bends in it, it goes straigh right down, one piece. THEN pull the intake tube off to get the broken pipe off, and there is oil in the throttle body!! Bad turbo? Or ? Car has been running great. Ur thoughts. Thanks bud.

The oil is from the pcv system. clean out the TB and ic and add in a catch can and you wont have any more oil making it to your intake man. That pipe could be the crank case breather and that would explain the oil leak.

Thanks. The cracked pipe is a inch wide and goes into the engine. Dumb question TB= timing belt or turbo?

most likely TB means Throttle Body in this case.

when you take off your intake pipe to the turbo, take your fingers and gently check and see if the shaft of the compressor wheels moves in any direction. it can move in and out as well as side to side movement. see if it moves. it is okay to have a little bit of play but i mean very minimal. next, look at your compressor wheel itself and ensure that all fins are not chipped and in good shape. how much oil is in your intake lines? are we talking about a little drop or a puddle or some literally leaks out when you remove the hoses?

your pcv is more then likely the cause of the oil leak like stated before. make sure you keep an eye on your oil level, being that the hose that is leaking might just give out sometime soon.

possibly place a piece of cardboard or paper under your car and trace teh leak up that way. gravity will cause it to fall 9/10 directly under the source. i dont honestly know hardly anything about 1.8t's or audi's alike but ive got a good idea about boosted motors. oil is a big deal. make sure its leaking from a less critical area then something like your turbo.

removing teh intake mani now, how does the fuel rail and injectors come out. dont wanna be too hard on tem. cincy. the cracked tube actually looks like number 2 on the aeb diagram. I have a 2000 a4 and the valve cover say atw but the aeb diagram seems to look more accurate? i confused?

Just umbolt it from the intake manifold and move it out of the way. But you need to remove the fuel pressure first.
