Angry HELP installing after market radio

Hello everyone I just got an aftermarket radio. I want to install it in my 01 A4. It already has an aftermarket sound system but the original Bose radio is still installed. I hear that I have to be very careful with disconnecting the radio and battery and all. So before I screw my car, can anyone help me with instructions of how to do it? Thanks guys

Not sure what you're talking about. Are you saying the speakers are already upgraded and he is still using the stock head unit? Or did he already have an aftermarket DIN and just put the factory one back in?

I would suggest buying a wiring kit from www.crutchfield.com which would make it plug and play. Plus you can do the wiring splices on a work bench instead of uncomfortably inside the car.

thanks..and yea i got the radio and the wiring kit from crutchfield already.. the stock radio and the stock bose speakers are still in the car, i only have a amp and subwoofer aftermarket. Im only curious to know if I will mess anything up by taking out the stock radio, should i disconnect the battery? etc.

You don't need to disconnect the car battery, they only say that because if you do the stock radio will go into safe mode. Since you're changing the unit it doesn't matter.
