As for lowering, Check out ST coilovers (do a search), they're a great product from what I've read and they're pretty cheap too. Another option instead of Coilovers would be Spring/Shock combo. Bilstein Sport shocks and H&R sport springs are a common combo. I have them, I love it.

As for Control arms, FCP Groton has a groupbuy going on (Search, it should be on audiforums, if not I know for sure it's on audizine). 205 Shipped for the whole front end. Right & left, uppers & lowers, and tie rod ends. You can pay more for different tie rods.

Go to autozone and have them check your CEL to see what codes come up. Then do a search with the number and you should be able to figure out what the problem is.

There are a ton of different companies that make chips for the 1.8t. I'm not very familiar with them though, I have a 2.8. Again, search is your best friend!

Instead of posting 4 posts in a row, try to just edit the last post especially if no one has posted after you.

+1 on the Bilstein/H&R Sport set-up, I have it as well and LOVE IT. Lowers the car enough to notice but not enough to really ruin the ride comfort.

Pay for the upgraded tie rod ends. I bought a standard Blauparts kit and my tie rod ends are mine are already shot (Installed 2 years ago). I purchased the Heavy Duty ends at ECS.

And as those before me have already stated.......searching these and other forums for information is FAR better than asking questions that have already been asked before.

Classifieds can be found on the main page, about 3/4 of the way down. Can you get the exact code from your CEL? There's a ton of crap on these cars for "reducing smog"

It's a possibility that it's the Secondary air pump thing. Codes 0411, 0455 or something like that. If that rings a bell, search Secondary air pump. I have both those codes. I think there's a leak somewhere. My PCV system has tons of cracks but I just don't feel like paying 100's of dollars for pieces of plastic lol.

Ian ya I was looking underneath and a hose from secondary pump to whatever was discOnnected and and I went to autozone bought a radiator hose for 2.38 and 2 clamps for 2.49 and all good now.
As for suspension 3 of my struts r now making noise in the last 3 weeks and I'm thinking bilstein n h&r springs I've heard good things. Just need good prices. What wheel size is good w a 19 if I just get a normal face wheel and if I wanna get staggered with a lip. Thanks
