hi there just wondered if anyone could shed some light for me. iv got an 1999 audi 2.8 Quattro its done 52000 miles full service history. anyhow I was using on the roads and it never over heated always stated in the middle so iv stripped it and I live in Guernsey channel islands and am now racing it down the beach. obviously I was pushing it harder but it started to over heat so couldn't race. iv now flushed the rad as only half was getting warm but still no joy. seems to be getting a lot of pressure in the system to and top hose is really hot. anyone got any ideas what it could be thanks.

 

Try a thermostat, replace it and see if it helps. Probably a thermostat stuck closed.
