Question Help! Trunk will not open!

My central locking pump failed a couple of weeks ago. I am just now getting around to fixing it. I went to open my trunk but it wont budge. The keyless entry wont unlock it but neither will the key. I need to get in there to change that pump over but I have no idea how. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Go through the back seat... though the key should work as long as it's not the valet key.

Question trunk help

I know for a fact the key is not the valet key. I dont have a valet key. It used to work just fine. Now, nothing. If I do go throught the back seat, how do I get the trunk open? Everything back there has a panel over it.It is 98 so there is no emergancy handle in there. Any sugestions?

you can unscrew that panel off the trunk lid from the inside fairly easy. As long as you can fit, fold the rear seats down and use a flash light. Once that panel is off, everything mechanical will be in front of you. I recently had to take all the bits out of my trunk lid due to an accident. The job is fairly simple, but the fact the the trunk is shut will complicate things a little more.

Once that panel is off, you can see the lever that links the locking pump to the trunk latch below. I'm not a hundred percent positive, but I'm sure you could fiddle with it to get it to open. Then from there, you'll already have the pump exposed, you can remove and replace it.

dont u just push the button on the trunk out side the car to open it? and like they said even if the pump for the lock doesnt work your key should manually unlock it unless the metal portion of your locking device is broken
