Default Hiccup Problem

I was able to find something like my problem (https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b5-models-69/97-a4-misfire-loose-battery-57936/) but the biggest difference is he's got a V6 and I have the AEB.

At lower RPMs while in motion my engine hiccups. Any clues why? I have a 98 A4 1.8TQ Tip with about 103,000 Miles.

So... this started today... I have no check engine light on. When I'm going down the road the engine sometimes loses power for a few seconds then it's back. It seems to happen when I'm doing around 1,000-2,500 RPM. I don't have much more than that. It's very intermittent. From what I've read it could be a EGR valve but I can't find anyone else with the same problem with an AEB engine.

It's only happening when the car is in drive. When the car is in park it doesn't have this problem. It kind of sounds like a miss-fire but my check engine light isn't trowing any codes.
