Question High Speed Wobble?

Hey, this is my first post and i have a question. When I drive at speeds 55+ you can feel what I believe to be the front axles wobbling slightly and the wheel has a small shake to it, no noise. When I bought the car (about 3 months ago) I was told the front axles should be replaced soon, could they have been referring to the CV axle? Would that fix my wobble problem? Please help...

I'd check for wheel balance before looking at the CV joints, but I imagine that a bad CV could cause trouble.

standard rule is that if you feel it in your hands it is an alignment problem, possibly could be the axles that you mentioned, or some other front end suspension issue. if you feel it in your backside it is a balance, or some other wheel/tire problem

CV problems are typically only noticable when you are going around turns. you will hear the ticking/grinding noise

keep in mind these are generally generalized generalizations. your problem may be unrelated.

good luck

I second/third a wheel weight. I lost a wheel weight on my old A4 and only noticed it at speeds above 55mph. Got all 4 wheels balanced and it went right away.

I can feel a pull from shitty tie rod ends on the highway. Its hard to go perfectly straight.
