How Bizarre

RE: How Bizarre
Yes it is easily accessible; keep in mind this was on his late model A6. It depends on if you have a 1.8 or a 2.8. His engine has an intake and exhaust cam position sensor for both banks totaling four in all, but he had the VAG program to tell him which one was mis-reading. I believe the sensor isn't outrageously priced, somewhere around $30 and it takes about 2 seconds to install. From what I can tell you basically follow the head covers towards the back of the car. When you get to the end look on a vertical face for two ports. I included a picture of his engine and about where to find them. Hope this helps.

RE: How Bizarre
Here's a link I found on ebay. The listing states it will fit most b5's, so something similar to this is what you should be looking for.

RE: How Bizarre
That one in the ebay link looks a little different than mine. I really dont think its the cam sensor, I checked and everything looks fine. Ive been searching and it seems like people with bad cam sensors can't even start their cars. ill keep it in mind though thanks for the advice.

RE: How Bizarre
you'd also probly have a CEL if it was the cam sensor. maybe its the 006? check the o-rings inside. i never had to change them and pretty sure badluckaudi (who owned it before me) didn't either. it would be a really cheap and quick fix too, so its worth at least checkin.
