first thing you should do is get those autolites out of there

why? this is why- https://www.audiforums.com/m_147151/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm
you should refrase that.. do not use autolite COPPER..we all know copper will fowl easy anyway, but i have always use autolite iridium on a .025 gap and have had great luck..but i have burnt a couple copper before, so i dont use those anymore
Copper's heat capacity makes for a great turbo application, and it's been established that single-ground copper NGK BKR*E make for the best plugs in our vehicles.

Why the hell are you running iridium plugs?

im running a colder plug, turbo users use coppers for a colder burn, but copper plugs will foul easily...im gapped low, with a colder plug..they seem to work alot better than the coppers i had in

iridiums create a quicker better spark, and colder if you buy the colder version...they outlast coppers and wont foul out or melt like some copper do

coppers only downside is that the tips degrade faster but thats why you change them more often. they are cheaper too. i run f6dtc's and have no problems running them for 20k+ miles. and they are 1/3 the cost of iridiums. and copper is better conductor of heat and spark than platinum or iridium, and its a stronger more efficient spark that tolerates a wider range of cylinder temps. the only reason people run platinum and iridium plugs is cause of their long life, they are generally not used in performance applications.

Kemp why don't you take a chemistry class and compare the properties of copper and iridium before you talk about how copper "melts"?

Here, let me run you through Chemistry 101:

Periodic Table of the Elements:

1357.77 K [or 1084.62 °C (1984.32 °F)]
At that temperature, the spark plugs melting should be the last of your concern. Granted, iridium DOES have a higher melting point, but the thermal conductivity is so much lower than coppers, which makes for a great susceptibility of damage done by heat created by turbochargers.

Class dismissed.

but tri-electrodes leave no room for fine tuning the gap, so i think ill stick to single electrodes

what plugs do you recomend

you can fine tune the gap if you wanted to, but with cars like the 034 vr6-t and the fastest a4 in the world, running a tri-electrode copper plug without gapping them, i see no need to. you can use a feeler gauge to make sure the gap is consistent, but they dont need actual gapping

ok, well you say you have no problems that usually lead to the gap?

and i am on ngk right now, what heat range, what electrode shape, and what shape ground do i want?

zero problems. http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...mp;engine=1.8T

if you want to run a single electrode either the bkr6e or bkr7e will be good. the 7's are a colder plug
