Smile How to change air filter

can somebody help me?? i want to change my air filter in my 1999 audi a4 1.8t but i dont know how, sorry just bought my a4 couple of days ago, looks like theres a lot of things to move before changing the air filter. one more thing, if i change it to like the performance ones like the knn or something like that will i have any problems engine wise? if its good can you guys recommend any brand or any type of air filter?

if you go with K&N, you'll have a slight idle problem down the road due to the excessive oil they have on their filters. you see the big black box on the passenger side of the engine? that's your airbox, there are clips around it and you just undo them and tilt the top off and get the old filter out. make sure you put in the new filter correctly

Use a Mann or Mahl. Wear gloves as the enclosure can snap
shut and cut your hands.

Another suggestion (from personal experience), don't change the air filter right after you get back from buying it at AutoZone, turns out all that metal stuff under there gets hot as f*ck when you drive around, who knew!?
