Use designated MAF cleaner. CRC brand is probably the most popular.
You realize, that cleaning MAFs is having very low success ratio?

Is there something wrong with your car that you think cleaning your MAF will help? +1 Kajtek...

i was told that when i put my k&n panel air filter in a couple months ago that it would cause the oil from the filter to "clog" the MAF. and i have noticed a decrease in power.

yep i had the maf burn out on my nissan 200sx for the that same reason. The maf on that car is a hot wire mass air. The oil does collect more particulates but it will coat the wire and give you a bad reading.
