how do i take apart the center console? so i can look at my shifter. my car is a automatic with the tip

LOL, and it's coming apart again. I decided that after the results of the piano black on the center panel, I'm going to do the rest of the former wood trim in piano black as well. Here's the procedure I used for disassembly:

This will walk you right throughit. Take a look at my album on here and you'll see how it'll look when you're done, but don't be dissuaded by it - it's a LOT easier than you'd believe, looking at the pics.

you don't need to take it apart that much to see the shifter assembly, since you have a tip there is a special way to remove the shifter ****.
Put the shifter in neutral.
Pull out on the button enough so you can get a zip tie behind the button.
Now pull like all hell straight upwards ( you might hit your head) and it will come off. The rest of the procedure is the same as the manual trans.
