How do I take off the center piece by the handbrake?
Well I intalled my turbo timer a while ago, but I didnt wire it to the hand brake because I couldnt get to the wire and I couldnt get the center piece apart. Anyone know of a write up or can just explain? thanks alot
ummm, I have a 98, but maybe we have the same interior?
so, if you have cupholders under the armrest, take them out, there is a 13/14mm nut you must remove
if you are in the back seat, there is an ashtray behind the armrest, open it and lift it out...there are two more 13/14mm nuts (there is a recessed nut you don't need to touch)
there is a seem where the center console meets the "shifter console", on both sides, there is a small "ovalish" cap you must pop out using a tiny little flat-head screwdriver...
behind the little cap on either side is a single 8mm screw, back them out
then lift your e-brake up, at the base of the handle, on the underside there is a little clip you must pull down (using a fingernail or a small flat-head)
you can then remove the rest of the e-brake skirt by sliding it up and forward
now you can lift the console from the armrest, it should come up and out fairly easily...gl!
