Default how much $$ can i expect to get?

i have a 96 2.8 a4. 151k miles. i was rear ended last week. as weird as this sounds, the front windshield cracked, the back bumper will need replaced, the trunk would need replaced, and the passanger side rear fender would probably need replaced too. after getting hit, i have an exhaust leak under the car. it sounds like it is where the headers come down and meet the rest of the exhaust. i havent climbed down there and looked while its running, but its pretty uch coming from right under the driver seat...it what it sounds like. just the body damage was quoted at approx. 2400$ question is.....if i wanted to sell the car as is, for just parts (As a whole, not a part out) how much do you all think i could expect to get? i may just do that if i can get 1500-2000$, and keep the other money and get another car. any input is appreciated. the car runs fine. however, the heat/ac isnt working either. im not sure if it was from when the person who had it before me did the "facelift" or whatever.

thanks in advance guys

That esitmate sounds a little high but with some research you can get the hood and bumper off the intewrweb, have the shop paint the pieces and bang out your fender. fix the exhaust yourself, and i windshields r 200ish? with 151k and damage i doubt youd see 1500 a grand would be lucky.

i have a newborn, and a 15 month old. so the heat and AC working is kind of an issue...today it was 95 degrees...i found another a4 im interested in with fewer miles, and its a 99. im just tryin to see what the best route would be to go so that i get the most money out of it.

i forgot to mention...the paint is the pearl white...so maybe thats why the price is so steep. and the trunk wont stay latched. all the metal trim there is bent up. it was a newer dodge ram that hit me so it was a decent size truck

My opinion: Take the insurance money and get a different car.

yea having heat an ac is the ish. Throw your car on craigslist for 2k see what happnes. Also, if you need opinions you can always post the car your looking at here, theres a lot of common problems that might end up being more than the 2400 in body work.

I'd like to think you could get $1500 for it but if you take a look in the classified section under vehicles for sale you will see my 1999 A4 Quattro Sport 1.8t, current state inspection, with everything working, and just slight hail damage- has had 58 views and not one inquiry. I'm almost amazed that no one is even considering it for a winter beater at that price.

But a trend I've noticed on this forum, is that it's member don't really value their cars very much. Either that or everyone wants something for nothing. I've checked craigs list in my area and I can't believe the stuff that's selling for $1500. Compare for example, today I found a 1991 VW golf, 4-door, automatic, hubcaps, in fair conditon- $1500. Geez- my car is AWD, 16" alloy wheels, moonroof, climate control, turbo charged engine, cold weather package- it's crazy how much more of a value my car is than the VW but I still haven't been able to sell it on a forum where we should have a group of people who understand the true value of a car like this.

end rant =(
