Maybe because people on an Audi forum already have an audi and just need parts for their cars they already have?

my car would be very good for parts...like i said...its still my daily driver and runs great. im actually taking it to an audi dealer in the morning to get a second estimate. also, i called a junkyard today just to see how much they would give me for my car...thinking i would maybe get around 1500-1000...since its still 200% driveable......340 god damn dollars.....haha

junkyards dont pay **** usually, the repairs from Audi will more than likely be more, way more. Take the time to part it out yourself youll make a few grand you will probally be looking at 6k total after parts and insuarnce. thats a B6 or a nice S4.

I took it to an Audi dealer today....I'm sure I would make more Just taking the 2400 and parting it out......rather Then them totaling it and giving me 3300 and taking the car....right? Thing is...I don't really feel like ripping the car apart for all the parts...I would rather someone take the whole damn car

im very much so a DIY guy. i just dont know enough about these cars to tell people what is what, and what condition it is it. i should have the check from insurance tomorrow hopefully...the 2400....but if i take it to audi to get them to fix it...i give them the 2400...then if they find more damage...which they will (the frame, windshield and exhaust) they will get more money from insurance...until it is maxed out and deemed totaled...then i will get a check from usaa for the value of the car.

if i just take the 2400, and sell mine for parts...i think i could get more then 1k out of it. the engine is in good condition, the transmission, the rear seats look damn near brand new, the dash...all that...its alll in great shape. its just the back bumper where the damage is. but selling it for parts...i dont really want to deal with the hassle of having to take **** apart, and shipping it all over the place...also not knowing how much i should ask for the parts...i would rather just sell the whole thing all at once.....im gonna check out ebay and see if others are selling entire cars...and what they are going for.

The problem with trying to sell it as a parts car is a lot of guys don't have the room to store a parts car, nor the need - there are typical failing parts on these cars but those can be found for sale individually. An S4 is much more likely to be bought intact for parts due to so many parts being upgrades for an A4. Unless someone blew their engine and needed to replace it (and maybe score some extras in the process) it may be tough to sell it as you'd like.
