First question I have asked here. Why would a blown tire cause an 1999 A4 to throw a ABS light?

If the tire blew apart it is possible the abs sensor wire was cut or damaged.

^x2. It's common sense man, that, or the ABS sensor went when the tire blew and it was just coincidence.
