Angry I did it

I did it... I knew it was going to happen.

I snapped the gas pedal right out of my '99.5 1.8TQM at the hinges.

I have been searching for a diagram everywhere to no avail. Can someone tell me how to remove the rest of the pedal (the two pivot points) from the aluminum block under there? There are no clips or screws in sight that hint to how it is removed.

the piece looks like this, for the record:

no, no, no, I pulled up on it because my throttle wouldn't open all the way... not because it was stuck open

I don't have a Bentley manual and I didn't see anything in my bootleg Haynes copy :\

why would you pull on your gas pedal if your throttle won't open all the way lol. adjust the throttle cable.

have you taken the kneebolster off yet? that would be the first step. this is the second time i've heard of the gas pedal breaking except the first one was a real pedal failure, not human error

ok, I've posted about it before, but here goes:

I have adjusted the throttle cable and even replaced it with no luck. The pedal just wouldn't come up any higher than it was already (about an inch or two from the floor - way closer than my auto pedal and they are both DBW). The throttle wouldn't open all the way because of this, and if I adjusted the cable it owuld idle way too high. I thought something might be bent under there, so I pulled on it and didn't think it would be a couple of wimpy sheets of plastic holding my gas pedal in place...

The kneebolster has not been on my car for a while now. It's not like I just reached in there and tore it out... I've been to german specialty mechanics and everything that don't know what's wrong. I think I might have to take the whole pedal cluster out of there, but I don't know how to go about it... It's not my DD luckily
