If you're gonna keep it slammed like that then definitely go with the 225's. They won't be as likely to rub and they will hardly look stretched at all.

Can't really compare a size tire that is on a 19 or 18" wheel to figure out what will look good on a 17. I had 225/40's on a 18 and they fit much smaller on a 18x8 then what my 225/45 on a 17x8.

$150 is cheap price for a 19" tire.

Your 18" 225/40's had sidewalls that were about 11mm's smaller than your 225/45 17's so that would make sense why they fit much smaller.

Nick, I still think with you being so low you won't like the 235's

I know the side wall is smaller seeing that 40% of a number is smaller then 45%. lol

I wasn't saying the tire height looked smaller. I meant that the actual tire itself looked smaller then the wheel to the point that they were stretched vs the 225/45 on the 17 that looked to sit beyond the lip of the rim. I was trying to make a point that just because 2 tires have the same width doesn't doesn't mean they are going to actually be as wide when it comes to 2 different size rims.

I de-slammefiied myself this past Saturday... I didn't enjoy driving slammed at all. Not what I wanted from my car. It looked good parked, however I dreaded getting in and going anywhere and that's NOT what I wanted. I love driving so I hated what it did to my driving style. Having to worry about every little bump etc. gets old even after three days. Getting into work was another battle... three speed bumps to get to the parking lot.

Anyway, I raised them up to about 24.5 gtf, may go a tad lower soon, not sure, but the ride quality has greatly improved and on/off ramps on the highway are that much more fun .

You should run 205/45/17.

You were running 40 tires on 17's, in which you'll literally be slammed if you have no finger gaps. I think if you ran 45, you should be a lot happier, although you won't be as low as you are right now. Also running 45 will improve the ride quality (if that's also what you're looking for).

I'm riding on the 16's right now with my winter tires, so ride quality is top notch haha, although I hate driving around in 60 degree weather with my winters.

I can't go that low in the front for some reason . With the tiny tires I still have wheel gap up front with two threads left on my coils. I never put them all the way down, maybe I'll do that for fun this weekend just to see what happens.

Yeah I did the same thing. Went pretty low to start with then kept adjusting them higher until my suspension agreed with my driving (bout 24.5 as well). I agree, I love driving too much to stay slammed. Just not practical for me at all.

I drove in the right lane two days in a row on the highway. That's when I knew something was wrong. I'm always in the left lane making people get out of my way not on purpose though, they just see the four rings and get nervous.

Ha. kidding.
