So since I have had my car I have had problems with my ICM (98.5 a4 1.8tqm). I have been looking online about bypassing the ICM. Has anyone tried this and what is the benefit?

My other question is that my boost falls off back to stock around 5500, would a mbc keep it around 18 through redline and what is the best way to route the mbc?

i havent heard anything about bypassing the icm, but why not spend the 100$ and do it right? that way there wont be any problems with bypassing it. i think it is fairly normal for the boost to start dropping after 5500, you might have a small boost leak, thats what happend to me. and are you driving it around with a bad icm? for me it caused a really bad misfire and you probably shouldnt be driving it around especially at 5500 rpms.

 

Is the DV upgraded? No way a stock DV is going to hold up to chipped boost.
