ID on wastegate problem?
hi
So i have a 96 a4 b5 1.8tq, fmic, 007dv, n75e, silicon intake, 2.5 catback, chipped
problem is i cant boost over 0.5bar spiking at 0.7. Tryed boost leak test with no results, changed all hoses to silicon, yet no change.
Today i unplugged my wastegate hose( one that goes to n75) and i was able to boost well up to, (and over for a second b4 cutout) 1 bar ( how it should be boosting!)
Does this mean that my wastegate is dead?
Any help appreicated as ive been trying to fix this boost issue for months now
thanks for your time.

Make sure the nut on the shaft is tight. This is what gives the waste gate it's tension or boost setting. If it's good, you could have a bad waste gate that needs replaced because it's not fully closing.
