Hi, newbie here, I've an A4 2.5TDI quattro automatic, year 2000, 96k miles, AFB engine code.
The problem is , it idles too high, just started doing it, no fault codes in engine or transmission, idling around 980rpm to 1160rpm, resulting in jumping and banging when selecting drive or reverse.
Any ideas?

 

Have you got the problem fixed yet ken? The jumping could be a result of your transmission sticking/slipping, my last A4 2.8 would jump a bunch from stop/1st but after i got going it seemed to stop. but after i changed out the tranny fluid and a new gasket, it went away. how do you like your 2.5? have you done any modifications to it?
