Im either really smart or really stupid...control arms
Im probably just about to spend around $2200 replacing all my control arms, tie-rods, and sway bar links. I get the car back tomm. Its been in the shop about a week working on and off. I know the car needed at lease 2-3 arms because there was quite a bit of play when moving them plus the bushings were completely dried out. The car wasn't safe to drive unless i at least replaced the ones as necessary, but all?!
I got the car with 78K never replaced an arm. Now it has close to 130K so it may make sense. May someone else has gone through the same thing...or am i just getting it...hard...with no grease?

all the items you're replacing normally wear at 80-90k so it looks like you got some extra mileage out of them anyway. You should ask them if they used O.E. replicas or the newer Heavy duty versions which last a bit longer. In either case you shouldn't really need to replace them again for the life of the car, unless of course you expect to keep it past 200+K miles.
How funny, I just got my quote from the shop to get my tie rod ends and control arms replaced today. I'm looking at 1400, which includes labor.
I'm taking it to another shop tomorrow though for a second opinion.
