i would go to a body shop supply store and get some polishing compound and use it w/ a wheel if you have one, then just throw some wax on it. 2k grit is not a big deal at all. ive polished show cars starting at 600 grit on fresh paint.

Use buffing compound then finishing compound, the scratches will come right out and it'll look great.

Clay bar works well on tree sap and tar as well and it wont damage the paint like sandpaper.

I used Scratch Doctor on it this morning and it made them less noticable, but they are still visable. I wasn't able to find any polishing compound. Im taking it to a dealer tomorrow to get my rear coils put in, they are snapped in half, and see whats up with my EGR valve, im going to see if they can just buff the few spots out.

I'm sure that he has heard of a claybar, but from my understanding, it sounds like he didn't have one available. Live and learn man. He tried something, didn't work, so now he's fixing it. We all make mistakes, and learn from them.

thats gonna need a buff and polish, remember best thing to take out tree sap is alcohol.

yep! few stiff drinks, you'll never notice the tree sap.
