Default Installing Turbo on a 2.8

Does anyone know anything on if the Audi 2.8 Quattro can be turboed or not, rather than supercharged?

yes it can, but it would be cheaper to keep your 2.8 and buy a 1.8T....lol

what year 2.8 do you have?....is it an a4?....how many miles are on it?....is it auto or manual?

I would say your best bet would either be to keep your car NA and make it look and handle amazingly....

or get yourself a car that already has a turbo.....

gl!

I have only seen a couple 2.8 turbos and they ran like **** from what i can remember.....mainly because they were low boost without a tune....

well...gl!

As mentioned, it can be done but the cost isn't worth it. There was a posting either on here or on the 'Zine a long time ago about a guy putting a turbo in his 2.8. He never finished the project and ultimately sold (or tried to sell) it on one of these hereforums.

There are few out there. But that would cost a lot of money. SC is much easier for 2.8

Possible? Yes. Practical? No. Think with your wallet here.

I have a 1996 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 liter with a manuel transmission and have under 140 thousand but I am going to bore it out just a little bit, so I can get more horse power out of all motor.

Boring the motor will not give you any noticable power gains. If you are serious about more power for less money, sell the car and get the 1.8TQ. For what it costs to get more power out of your 2.8, you can actually buy another A4 1.8T...no kidding here, as I have the PES G2 on my 2.8. It is not a cheap option...you are looking at a minimum of $5000 after all is said and done....while the four-bangers are pretty easy to milk more power from.

Seems like two turbos would be easier to figure out than one and either way...if you want boost in your current car, you should get a supercharger.
