Default Interest in a nice straight pipe?

I was wondering if there was any interest in some nice straight pipes for the B5 1.8T's? It will be a fully stainless tig welded peice. Flanges will be laser cut 3/8ths stainless steel. The piping will be made out of 3" 16 ga stainless. It will have two stainless o2 bungs. the last o2 bung will be pulled away and turned at an angle in order to keep from you guys getting a CEL. Basically the ultimate straight pipe direct bolt-in.

Prices for these will be in the 180-220 bracket varying on what sources i can find for flanges.

Let me know if you would be interested in one of these for this price and if you think there will be a market for somthing of this caliber.

Thanks,
Ari

You mean a "test pipe" that gets installed in place of a Cat? You can find these all over the place in the $185-$195 range, even the ER goes for $195 retail.

Test pipe, straight pipe, they are both the same thing. Well this one wont have that ghetto reducer and it wont throw a cel.

Yeah, just never heard it called a "straight pipe" before since its not straight at all for the A4.

You mean you will try to make it not throw a CEL, this will be a huge issue for the dbw cars since the only way to keep it from throwing a CEL is to have a tuner write it out.

The reducer in the ER test pipe isn't "ghetto" its thereso it can be mounted to a 2.5" down pipe which most people run unless they have gone to a custom 3" down pipe for a 3" exhaust and most of the people that gofull 3"are running BT or BAT setups which wont be able to use that type of test pipe anyway. There are other test pipes out there that are full 3", problem is that you end up with a huge lip if you mount it to a smaller DP.

ATP sells a full 3" test pipe for $145.

well its ghetto to me since i would have made that reducer slowly go from 3 down to 2.5 over 2 inches of tubing so its not so harsh, that is a very very harsh reduction. i understand its purpose and in that case no its not ghetto but the execution deffinetly is ghetto.

correct it wont throw a cel and can be bolted into a completely stock a4 or if asked i could weld on a 3" 3 bolt flange on the outlet for you guys that want to run a bigger exhaust for no extra $.

Straight pipe usually refers to the muffler or the entire exhaust system.
3" guys do exist. You will be joining a pre-existing market, so without a name, you'll have to have a price to make it worthwhile.
