so near my shift boot, it has that paint on the plastic, and it was scratched up a bit , i have a light gray interior btw, i picked at it with my thumbnail to make it look less scratched and noticed the color beneath was much more brilliant.

later when i had time i took a razor, and slowly at a very very low angle peeled away the paint it looks much better then the painted plastic.

its late and cold as hell outside cuz i live in Minnesota so im not gonna run out there now, but if you'd like to see a picture i can take one tomorrow after work. There about an inch beneath my radio/heat control that hangs over the piece that i didn't go at so i can get a closeup of the color difference.

now like i said my interior is light gray and the plastic beneath the paint is gray, im not sure if yours is the same color as the top paint.

It's becoming more apparent that ECS Tuning is the place to shop.
Here's the replacement part for the interior door handle.

take them off and paint them, why waste money on a new one?

Easier said than done. Have you found a color match for Ecru?
Alternative would be to use a grey or black paint that would change the appearance/design of the door panel.
