Jack rail

Default Jack rail

My front passenger side jack rail is all bent up. Can i keep my jack stand where i've circled seen on the pic?

Yes you can put your jack stand under that spot or even the floor jack. That spot is part of the subframe.

thanks mike.

Since i'll be putting my jack stands there, can i jack up the car from the points i've circled on the pic below? I think thats where my mechanic puts it when he hoist my car up. Looks like a perfect pad to put a floor jack too, but when i touched it, it had a soft feel so i dunno.

Uhh... You never put a floor jack on that by itself. You need an adapter with a slot for that. It's definitely weakened though it doesn't seem to be too serious.

I had 2 people mess up my Camaro by trying to put a floor jack on basically the same type of spot and it actually messed up the body visibly, though it was easy to bend back, fortunately. Idiots...

what i do is jack the car up by the first picture with the circle and then put jack stands on the subframe. i do that to every car and i've yet to have anything happen. of course i put something else under the car like a wheel for backup safety
