I just finished laying suede on the dash trim, center console (where the radio and HVAC are) the shift **** and the arm rest. All I have to say is....what a pain in the ***!! ImTheDevil, I cannot believe you did this 3 times......I'm making sure to do a pretty good job so as not to have to do this EVER again.

My fingers are a little sore, so I'll have pictures posted up later....so everyone will jsut have to check back later....SORRY

 

Ugh come on! I want to re wrap some things but I'm afraid I'll do an awful job. Pics ASAP.

I painted my car 5 different shades of pink with spray paint. I'll post some pics later!

Alright, I'm kidding, but I really wanted to see some pics for idea on what to do with my car... what a let down! Thanks for nothing, man...

 

the stock shift ****, third try was a charm to get it just right:



the armrest was pretty straight forward:



the right side dash trim was a long drawn out process just to take out. Nonetheless, the trim is easy to wrap. the radio and HVAC piece you need to take a lot of time on to get right (that wrinkle by the heated seat control is gone now by the way):



kept the quattro emblem on the front trim:



just a comparison from the tacky wood trim (at least I think it looks tacky) to the suede (and yes I had to redo that end part because it tore through):



Door trim is not yet done as I had little time to get just this far. Plus living in an apartment community where you aren't allowed to work on your car is "strictly" enforced. Once the door trim is wrapped, that will be it though. I have no need to do the pillars or the headliner.....maybe just the rear deck, who knows.....

On a side note, as I was taking the trim out and had everything, and I mean everything taken apart from the dash down, the only cop that lives in the complex parks right next to me. I just smiled and told him I needed to fix something quickly. He said relax if you were just taking the radio or stealing the car you should have gotten it by now, Good Luck. Funny guy.....

 

Lol I only suede-wrapped it once. The other times were for paintwork. You're doing a killer job bro - looks awesome! I did my center panel in piano black but I like the suede job you did. I may do my armrest, not sure on that yet. And definitely do the rear deck - it makes a huge difference in the look.

I'm going to finish my headliner and b/c pillars this winter. Tell you what - send me your e-brake shroud and I'll wrap it if you will wrap my shift ****. I love how that looks Keep it up and keep the pics coming. The job looks great and once it's all finished you'll love it.

that shift **** took forever to do. I'm too much of a perfectionist so I had to keep redoing the damn thing. If you want me to cover your ****, you can cover my e-brake shroud. I'll PM you my info and we can sort it out.

I noticed while taking mine apart, I bent one of the prongs on the silver bottom piece, so that being said, if you want to take apart that silver piece and the shift pattern so I don't damage it for you....I hate it when others damage my ****, but when I do it it's o.k. If you trust me I'll take it apart and try to be REALLY gentle with it.

 

People need to stop doing the suede wrap! It's doing nothing but making me more and more eager to do my own haha. Drunk: Yours looks sharp as hell, how did you do the shift **** and the HVAC piece? I was planning on doing both of those as well but wasn't sure how to go about getting everything cut right for all the little details of the HVAC piece.

Its decided. Winter break, I'm finding a heated garage and getting this done. I actually will probably start on the door panels first and have those done and then only have to worry about the dash but this is getting done soon. I've had the suede and other necessary materials for months now but just haven't had time but I'm motivated now, this will be done before 2009 comes to an end.

Devil: Enough props can not be had in your grace for being the first (I think?) to do this and spearheading such a great idea for others to do it, as well as the amount of help you provide to those who do decide to tackle it.
