Just got done with the first half of my new project...
O I gotcha now, thanks for the heads up about them being brittle in cold. When I pulled the door panel off to get at the speaker I remember seeing those clips now. I had a friend help with the door panel, I held it while he popped out the wiring stuff and latch cable and that helped keep pressure off the plastic clips so I'll just do it that way again when I pop it back out to do the trim to ensure those don't snap.
One other thing. Drunk: On the HVAC piece, I can't tell from your picture, but do you have the breather/temp sensor thing for the climate control? In your picture, where it would be is blocked out by your headunit so I can't tell if you do or not, but its a little black screen looking thing right above the climate control and right below the headunit and to the best of my knowledge is an interior temp sensor for the automatic climate control feature. I was looking at mine today and wasn't sure how to go about getting the suede around that piece, its a tight fit as it is. I thought about just covering it up, as I don't really use the auto climate control, usually manually adjust the temp and fan speed, but if you have said sensor and didn't cover it, can you offer some insight on how you went about keeping it uncovered?
my insight is simple, I covered it. The first time I tried to cover that panel, I tried trimming it up as close as I could and it looked like ****. Then I tried to find out if I could remove that piece, then re-insert it when finished, to my knowledge you can't. I covered it simply because, the fabric is thin enough to breathe through, the material is not very thick so I left it.....small price to pay for good looks I guess.
Unless someone else knows a better way of going about it, I'm all ears.

Wrapping the trim in suede is the easy part. Getting the trim off can be a pain in the *** because of all the stuff that has to be removed. I'd say if you get bored with the wood trim, put a nice gray suede over it and enjoy. I suck at finding colors to contrast. My interior contrasts nicely with the whitish-grayish seats, headliner and pillars. The panels are all black so the wood was really too much.
On second thought, carbon fiber would look great in your car.
